DOTHAN: At the July 16th Dothan City Commission meeting, Dothan Tuesday Rotary Club President, Brad Kimbro, and Dothan Rotary Club President, Cynthia Green, presented the City a check for $20,000 as part of each Club’s commitment to the Dothan Rotary Miracle Field Foundation’s continued financial obligation to help maintain Rotary Miracle Field and Park, along with the City of Dothan.
The Miracle Field being over 11-years old necessitated the need for repairs. In order not the delay the Miracle League season opening, the City of Dothan stepped up and made the necessary repairs at a cost of $200,000. The Miracle Field Foundation committed to reimbursing the City for its portion of the repairs in the amount of $120,000.
This $20,000 check represents the 3rd installment to the City, with $47,000 already paid in 2018. Dothan Tuesday Club President, Brad Kimbro, said, “Our club is pleased to help support the Wiregrass area’s Rotary Miracle Field. This park and playground offers so much to our community as a whole and especially to those families that have family members with special needs.
This is just another example of our club living out our motto of service above self.” Should the public like to assist in the continued upkeep and improvement of the Miracle Field, individualized engraved brick pavers can be purchased at https://polarengraving.com/rotarymiraclefieldfoundation.
