WASHINGTON COUNTY:An unrelated call to the Washington County Communications Center lands two in jail last night on outstanding warrant and drug charges.
On June 10th, deputies were dispatched to a call in the Wausau area late in the afternoon. In route, deputies spotted a female who was believed to have active warrants. Not to deviate from the original call, the deputy made quick call to a fellow deputy. With a description of the vehicle and its occupants, the deputies were able to make a positive identification once on scene. Deputies made contact with the passenger and registered owner of the vehicle, 32-year-old, Tiffany Lynn Holeyfield of Graceville, FL. Dispatch confirmed Holeyfield in fact had outstanding warrants and was taken into custody.
Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle who identified himself as John Curtis Smith a 39-year-old from Cottonwood, AL. Smith provided deputies with a lot of information. When questioned he became fidgety and revealed that he also had outstanding warrants out of Alabama. Smith was detained and consent to search was given. The search revealed he was in possession of a glass smoking pipe and a clear baggy containing a crystallized substance.
A WCSO K9 was deployed and alerted to narcotics inside the vehicle. Inside the vehicle concealed in a backpack was a cigarette pack containing a glass smoking pipe and a baggy with a white crystal substance. All items were field tested and positive for methamphetamine.
Both individuals were arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.
