Two Search Warrants Land Seven People in Jail

OKALOOSA COUNTY: Seven people have been arrested in connection with two separate search warrants executed yesterday by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Drug Task Force, which includes our partners from the Fort Walton Beach Police Department and Crestview Police Department.

    The DTF is focused on joining forces to combat illegal narcotics in Okaloosa County.


    One search warrant was executed at the Motel Six on Highway 98 in Destin where occupant 34-year old Kevin Rotton was known to have warrants for theft and illegal use of a credit card as well as failure to appear.


    He was found to have approximately seven grams of methamphetamine on his person, and in his room the DTF members also found heroin, glass pipes, plastic baggies, and a digital scale.


    42-year old Hans Junghann of Santa Rosa Beach was found in possession of two plastic baggies containing meth and syringes. 

    Two other men who had pulled up to the motel in a pickup truck prior to the search warrant have also been charged.

    34-year old Nicholas Solo of Michigan went inside the room and DTF members found him with heroin in his possession. He also claimed ownership of methamphetamine found in the truck.


   A truck passenger who didn’t enter the motel room, 40-year old Jason Smith of Santa Rosa Beach,  had a cigarette pack containing meth.

   All four are charged with possession of a controlled substance and more. Rotton is also charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell.



     Another narcotics search warrant executed by the DTF Thursday took place at a residence on Aurora Drive in Crestview. Methamphetamine and glass smoking devices were found in the bedroom of 52-year old Tammy Hutto.

    She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

   19-year old Austin Akins is charged with possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 33-year old Traci Davis, who was found with three grams of meth on her person and a hypodermic syringe in her bra, is charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
