Two Trafffic Stop Over the Weekend Landed Three People in Jail on Felony Drug Charges

On June 29th, A Washington County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle on S.R. 77 near Brickyard Market. After verifying the driver, 23-year-old Michael McNamara did not have a valid driver’s license, the deputy asked to search the vehicle.
Avoiding the deputy’s question McNamara remained talking on his cell phone. At this time the deputy deployed K9 Jett and was given a positive alert to narcotics.
During a search of the vehicle, the deputy located THC wax, a used hypodermic needle, and methamphetamine.
McNamara was arrested on two counts of felony drug possession and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Sunday, June 30th, deputies stopped a vehicle in Wausau near Forrest Avenue. The driver, 42-year-old Christopher Finch, did not have a valid driver’s license.
A search of the vehicle led deputies to find two plastic bags containing methamphetamine and a glass pipe.
Finch and his passenger, 42-year-old Tara Leigh Martin, were arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three were booked into the Washington County Jail.
