Two Vehicle Crash Claimed Life of a Opp Woman

TROY POST – A two-vehicle crash at approximately 7:19 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, involving a commercial vehicle has claimed the life of a Covington County woman.


Ashley Deborah Lord, 32, of Opp was driving a 2006 Honda CR-V traveling south on U.S. 331. The crash occurred when a 2017 Great Dane traveling north crossed the center line into the southbound lane. As a result, the Great Dane collided head-on with the Honda.


Lord was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred three miles south of Opp City limits. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
