HOUSTON COUNTY:    Each Friday morning Pastor Kyle ------ and the membership of Union Hill Baptist Church cook breakfast for the Cottonwood High School Football Team, Cheerleaders, Coaches and Cheerleader Sponsor.


While the team and cheerleaders arrive at 7 AM the Union Hill crew to prepare the meal arrives much earlier.


Each week a different guest is invited to speak to the football team and cheerleaders. This week the featured guest was Brad Kimbro, Chief Operating Officer for Wiregrass Electric.


Brad Kimbro has worked in the electric world since 1994.


From Brantley Alabama, Brad Kimbro earned a BS degree from Troy University in Business Administration and in Marketing.


Brad is married to Judith Duke Kimbro and they own and operate The Courtyard Boutique and Gift Shop in Downtown Ashford.


Brad is currently the President of the Dothan-Tuesday Rotary Club, the Vice President of the Dothan-Houston County Library, the Chairman of the Redevelopment Authority for the City of Ashford and board member for the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce serving as secretary to the Board.


Brad has two daughters, one married and teaching the first grade in Andalusia and one a junior at Troy University majoring in global business.


In the last three months Brad has become a Grandfather.


Brad attends and very active at Memphis Baptist Church. The Pastor of Memphis, Rev. Jim Tate who is from Luverne and Brother Jim grew up together.


Union Hill Baptist Church ministers to the young people of Cottonwood each week through the breakfast and a guest speaker.


Brad emphasized "we" not " I ". Cottonwood High School Head Coach Gimore said he and Brad has not spoken concerning the message. And he emphasizes the message Brad delivered the team is "we" not "I".


Other area churches have had breakfast for various teams. Union Hill has each week for Cottonwood.


I visited this morning. Houston County School Superintendent David Sewell joined the team and Houston County School Board Member Ricky Moore. In fact Ricky Moore and Jimmy Maddox were among several who cooked the meal.
