MIDLAND CITY AL:     Information from Midland City Alabama, Mayor Grimsley has parted ways with Midland City EMS Director Jeffrey Atkins.

Controversy surrounded the operation of the Midland City Ambulance service. Atkins figures of EMS runs verses the runs listed by Ozark - Dale County 911 did not match up.

Information is a disagreement between the Mayor and Atkins has resulted in the separation.

The City of Grimes and Pinckard voted to join ECHO EMS as the primary EMS provider. ECHO had plans to put a ambulance on Highway 231 and the primary station in ECHO. Both stations would be operated 24/7, 365 days per year.

Napier Field, Midland City and Newton were going with Midland City EMS. Atkins was the EMS Director but did cause a lot of division.

The Mayors need to, for one time in their life, remove their heads from between the buttocks and do what is best for the citizens of each municipality and the county, and join arms with ECHO EMS. A combination would work.

Emergency Medical Services is not about "I" but "we". By combining the efforts into one service all of the people in South Dale County and Echo would be served with a qualified EMS service.

ECHO EMS has been in continued operation for more than 20 years. You can do better together then apart.

UPDATED @ 10:37 PM

Just received a text message where the person said that if Mayor Grimsley and Jeff Atkins are unaware they had a falling out.

I do not have either phone number. But a number of people have sent messages that Atkins was no longer with Midland City.

After receiving this text message I text the question " is Atkins still with Midland City in charge". The response was " Yes..he has been out a few days due to sickness Geez...people are ruthless these days. Whoever is feeding this junk is absolutely bored I guess".

RSN response was " Guess so. Multiple - Multiple people have text to me".

Person sending text message " WOW...well people need to find someone else to pick on...geez. This is crazy and ridiculous".

I do have the number this text is from but I do not share those. Have received a text from Atkins before but never locked in his name and number.

I know the Midland City Ambulance was not available some the last couple of days. But I have bragged on them lately because they have been making their runs.

FOLKS...all I care about is the emergency services being delivered when people call 911 and need help. You do not see people being transported to the hospital on top pf the fire hoses of the fire trucks. NO.... they are transported on ambulances.

And my ONLY DOG IN THIS ISSUE IS...the emergency services being provided when people dial 911. Emergencies never makes appointments or identify their victims before the emergency strikes.

My passion is emergency services and they are delivered on time, with quality people to save lives. "WHO" the persons are on the ambulance, as long as they know what they are doing is all I care about.

Emergency Services, in my opinion, are not territorial. They are deliverable to the person in need by the closest service who can deliver the emergency services needed.

If Atkins and the Midland City Mayor have not departed company and are still together, more power to them. As long as the emergency medical services are being delivered to the people in need.

Perhaps the Mayor and Atkins will text 334-790-1729 with contact numbers.
