UPDATED @ 9:56 AM

For the record someone called me and asked me what was going on in Ozark - Dale County. Just wanted Joe knew that and included it in his report.

Ozark Police started a police pursuit of a Chevy Cruz, gray in color, on Marvin Parker headed towards Jernigan Road. Then passed Jernigan Loop.

The vehicle then was reported on County Road 50 towards County Road 15, in excess of 85 MPH.

The subject then turned left on County Road 15. At this time Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum had caught the chase and was behind the Ozark Police unit.

The chase continued on County Road 15 passing County Rod 60 at speeds of 85 MPH.

The chase continued on County Road 15 passing County Road 13 towards Barbour County.

The subject then turned west on County Road 72, east bound into Barbour County.

NOT MY JOB BUT I CALLED THE BARBOUR COUNTY SHERIFF ON HIS CELL ALERTING HIM OF THE CHASE. The units reported shots had been fired.

Dale County Sheriff Aviation Units was getting into the air. Retired Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Tim McDonald was the pilot.

The chase, still in Barbour County , was on County Road 33 headed towards Highway 10 at Blue Springs.

The suspects came off County Road 33 onto Highway 10, east bound towards Henry County.

NOT MY JOB BUT I CALLED HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT ALERTING THEM. SEVERAL DEPUTIES I KNOW WAS KEEPING THEM UPDATED OF THE CHASE LOCATION. I was texting the Barbour County Sheriff with location updates.

The suspects turned north off Highway 10 onto Barbour County 43. They continued north on County Road 43 crossing County Road 131.

NOTE:    At this time Ozark - Dale County got a unrelated call of a structure fire in Ariton. So as they are dealing with this high speed multi county pursuit with shots fired, now they have to get fire, EMS and law enforcement rolling to reports of a structure fire in Ariton.

The suspects then took a left on County Road 20 off County Road 43 where they met a Barbour County Deputy. As shots were fired the Barbour County Deputy pitted the suspect and ended the chase.  Shots were fired at this location, no one was injured in the gunfire.

Four suspects were taken into custody, two black males, one white male and one white female.

Henry County Sheriff Department was covering Highway 431 area as the chase progressed in Barbour County. A lot of these roads they were not aware of.

ALEA - Troopers, even off duty ALEA -Troopers, scrambled in service and moving that way because shots fired. Houston County Sheriff Deputies moved north on Highway 431. It is never known what direction these suspects would take.

Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum was attempting to get into position to pit the suspects when the wrecked occurred. Chief Bynum will shove that thick bumper on his Sheriff truck into a vehicle in a split second to end a pursuit. Bynum WILL NOT PLAY with these fools for one second longer then he has to. He is one of the nicest men you even want to meet. But he hates it when people flee placing citizens and law enforcement in danger.

Unless one of these four idiots got hurt in the accident, fortunately no law enforcement officer was injured.

GOOD JOB TO THESE OFFICERS. Thanks for all you do.

NOTE:   Nothing to the fire in Ariton, which Ozark - Dale County 911 was handling during the pursuit. Great job.

Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker also was responding their direction as the chase took place.

TEXT RICKEY STOKES alerted me of this chase. Everything used was mine and strictly mine and I was on my own vehicle. Sitting side of the road.

Some will ask why I called these departments. It is because radio salesman and law enforcement commanders over the years have been so future thinking ahead, everyone operates on different radio systems and can not listen to each other.

OZARK POLICE - Harris system.

DALE COUNTY SHERIFF - P25 system.

BARBOUR COUNTY SHERIFF - a VHF system.

HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF - hell, everyone in that county can not even listen to each other because no one will play in the same sand box and they are going to get someone killed.

ALEA - Troopers - the same VHF system with modifications that NOAH brought over on the ark. Got to say it has been improved and works better then most.

HOUSTON COUNTY SHERIFF - they operate on Dothan P25. They have been trying since 2016 to get their own system but no one can get anything done. And I laid it in their lap when the hurricane struck of how to get it done but I am just a dumb ass bondsman. Since the hurricane they have operated on Dothan's P25 system.

And I could go on and on.

The protection of a law enforcement officer in the performance of his job is my number one goal. I have and always will law my life down in order to make sure a officer is protected. If I die doing so, then so be it. But I have always stood beside a officer when he or she is alone until their backup gets there. And if I can play a role to make sure that officer goes home, I will.

In fact a couple will tell you if I had not stopped they might not have gone home.

I have been through the Alabama Police Academy, graduated as President of my class. When I went with Emergency Management was going back through the refresher course. Long story but between the class closed and next class they changed the rules and if out of law enforcement for a length of time you have to go back through the entire class. I do not want to be a regular every day law enforcement officer on the street.

But because Retired Ozark Police Chief Alan Bennefield who head the APOST is a sorry low down rotten back stabbing ------------------------------------------------ the rule was changed, even though we talked before the rule change.

But it does not matter what I am, I will always have their back in the performance of their job.

That is why I called the Barbour County Sheriff, Henry County Sheriff dispatcher and deputies and Houston County Sheriff Deputies were calling me. Because I could hear what was going on and they know I will be honest and accurate.

And if Alan Bennefield ever tells you more law enforcement officers are needed in Alabama, he is a bald headed liar and sorry -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------!!!

Because they had a chance of a free one.
