HOUSTON COUNTY:  Lucy Fire and Ashford Rescue responded to a report of a motor vehicle rollover with ejection in the 6400 block of County 4 at Fire Department Road. Reports are one has been ejected from the vehicle.


Lucy fire is on the scene advising person not breathing CPR in progress. Lucy Fire advising an additional person on out in the field has been located. Both appear to have been ejected.


Houston County Sheriff’s Office also responded. The area where the crash occurred is closed until it can be cleaned up. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.

At about 9:06 PM Houston County 911 dispatched Ashford Rescue, Lucy Fire, Houston County Sheriff Deputies, Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah, ALEA - Troopers to the accident on County Road 4. While responding the call was changed to Fire Department Road just off County Road 4.


Lucy Volunteer Fire arrived on the scene first and established Command. Ashford Rescue rolled two ambulances with paramedic. Survival Flight was launched, which was the second launch tonight on the eastside of Houston County.


Lucy Command reported a single vehicle accident, one patient not breathing and CPR was being initiated. Reports of a second patient in the field and as additional units were arriving they located the second patient.


Houston County Sheriff Deputies assisted in the CPR efforts. Ashford EMS arrived and began treating the patients. Survival Flight flew in 13 minutes from their Colquitt Georgia station.


The patient that CPR was being performed on was eventually called on orders of medical control. The patient was pronounced dead on the scene.


The second patient was loaded into Survival Flight and flown from the scene to a hospital in Tallahassee Florida.


Houston County Deputy Coroner responded to the scene. Knight's Wrecker from Ashford responded and removed the wrecked vehicle. Cottonwood Fire Chief Randy Hall and Cottonwood Fireman Trenton Hall responded to assist as did Kinsey Fire Chief/Vice President of Houston County Volunteer Fire Chief Association Jason Reneau.


ALEA - Troopers are in charge of the single vehicle accident.

DOTHAN POST -  A single vehicle crash at approximately 9:10 p.m. on Saturday September 26, 2020, has claimed the life of a Houston County man. Huey Graham Lee III, 39, of Gordan was killed when the 1993 Honda Accord he was operating left the roadway, struck a mailbox and overturned several times. Lee was not using a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Lee’s vehicle was life flighted to a Tallahassee Florida hospital in serious condition. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.  The accident occurred on Fire Department Road, ten miles south of Gordon. Nothing further is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate.
