HARTFORD:   07:30 AM    At about 3:45 AM Hartford Police and Geneva County 911 dispatched fore units to a structure fire at 507 West Main Street in Hartford.


The structure is a funeral home in Hartford. On the arrival of the first emergency units smoke was coming from two sides of the structure.


Both Hartford Fire and Slocomb Fire responded to the structure fire. The fire was contained and extinguished.


Arson is suspected. Fire Officials requested the Alabama State Fire Marshall's Office to investigate the fire. The building has been subject to arson attempt before.


Hartford Police are also investigating.


NOTE:   Nothing in this article makes accusations against the owners of the funeral home. Geneva County has been plagued with a arsonist in several fires.

Hartford Police have made an arrest in the funeral home structure fire. The suspect's place of residence is now in Geneva Alabama in the Geneva County Jail.
