HENRY COUNTY:    2:50 PM    Moments ago a large convoy of Henry County Sheriff Deputies were scene rapidly leaving the Henry County Courthouse and Abbeville area, south bound, on Highway 431.


We have learned a Henry County Sheriff Deputy was on a call and they were unable to make contact with the Deputy.


The units from all over Henry County, Sheriff Department - Headland Police - and Abbeville Police descended to Broxton Court in Headland. ALEA - Troopers are also on the scene.


UNOFFICIAL REPORTS the law enforcement officers have one person in custody.


At this time have been unable to make contact with Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship to see the details. And we understand why because at the time of this writing it is going on - right now.


As soon as more information is available we will update.

Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship said Henry County Sheriff Deputies were serving a protection order on Willet Way off Early Walden Road.


The person being served was not happy with being served and became combative with the Henry County Sheriff Deputy and assaulted the Deputy.


Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship and members of the Henry County Sheriff Department rolled to the deputy in combat. When the Sheriff and others arrived the subject continued to fight and was tased and taken into custody.


Not only has the person now been served the protection order but is now going to the Henry County Jail for assault on law enforcement officers.


Headland EMS is responding to check one of the Henry County Sheriff Deputies.
