DOTHAN:    3:37 AM    Dothan 911 received a call of a female that had been assaulted at Fairfield Inn on Ross Clark Circle next to Office Depot.

When police arrived they found a female that had been shot several times. The victim was transported to a Dothan hospital.

Based on information presented to Dothan Police when they arrived on the scene certian tactical decisions were made. 

We are not going to detail those decisions at this time.

Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish is on the scene. We will update as we feel safe to do so.

RSN has been on the scene along with WDHN Ben Stanfield since about 3 AM. A lot of information has been withheld until now because this was a TACTICAL situation for Dothan Police Department.

The SRT Unit was deployed from Dothan Police.

A female ran down the hall on the third floor where she and a male were staying in a room. The male fired shots in the third floor corridor as the female ran down the hallway. Shell casings are in the hallway and a room door casing on the third floor across the hallway and down the hallway from the room the parties were in had been struck and the bullet lodged.

There was a blood trial down the hallway and on the first floor both on the floor and on the wall.

Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance arrived at Fairfield Inn and transported the victim to a Dothan hospital. Reports are the victim had gunshot wounds to the abdomen.

Based on the information presented to Dothan Police, the suspect  vehicle still in tyhe parking lot of the motel, Police believed the suspect was held up in the room.

The original call was at 2:23 AM and was an assault with the victim bleeding. It was not until emergency units and law enforcement arrived that it was determined there was a shooting.

At 3:58 AM Dothan SRT arrived on a bus at a staging point in front of Fairfield Inn. At 4:21 AM SRT entered the building to proceed to the third floor.

At 4:24 AM the first flash bangs sounded from the SRT. At 4:28 AM another round of flash bangs sound. A K-9 was deployed into the room in the event the suspect was in the room and then SRT checked the room.

At 4:33 AM DRT exited and Dothan Fire entered to clear the smoke from the room. The audible fire alarm was sounding but could not be shut off until the time the smoke cleared.

FAIRFIELD INN is a nice hotel in Dothan. Normally very quiet and safe. You can not predict the actions of some of the guests. The hotel was full, most of which were people in Dothan for the ball torunament.

The suspect is known. The car in which is was driving has a Fulton County Georgia license plate but is believed to be local.

The suspect will face multiple criminal charges.

At 5:22 AM Dothan Fire reports smoke cleared from the building and all units are returning to service.

Dothan Police have issued a BOLO ( Be On Look Out ) broadcast for the shooting suspect that also caused a terroristic threat of a Dothan hotel.

The suspect has been identified as TYSHAWN WILLIAM FEARRINTON, black male, born in 1987. The suspect is described as 6'0, 200 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.

Suspect possibly driving or riding in a Gold 2010 Buick Lacrosse with Alabama License Plates 38HA807.

Suspect is possibly armed with a 40 caliber handgun and is considered armed and dangerous.
