DOTHAN: Around 4:53 AM... Multiple Dothan Fire Engines responded to a report of a structure fire in the 3500 block of Hartford Hwy. Captain Shiver was first on the scene and advised the home was fully involved with heavy fire showing. 

Dothan Police responded and shut down all West bound lanes due to all the fire engines and supply lines. Captain Shiver advised dispatch they had an all clear of the structure. 

Dothan utilities responded along with Alabama Power. Pilcher’s Ambulance stood by for firefighter safety. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Hartford Highway Command has released several fire engines from the scene and Pilcher Ambulance from the scene. Dothan Fire Engine 2 ( Lakewood ) remains on the scene.

Dothan Fire Department changes shift at 7 AM. They will be changing shifts at the scene rather than the fire station. 

There were no injuries in the fire. The home owner was asleep and children were playing a video game when they alerted dad of the fire.

Responding fire units could see ? flames from Hartford Highway before arriving on the scene. The fire command directed a defensive attack only which meant no fireman enter the structure. Only fight the fire from outside.

Dothan Police are directing traffic. In the 3500 block traffic is a two lane only.

Structures and material things can be replaced. People’s lives can not. Praises be no one was injured, residents or fireman.
