DOTHAN-HOUSTON COUNTY: 4:52 PM Dothan Police was involved in a high speed chase.
The chase started in Dothan, not sure exact location it started at. The chase came out East Main and onto Highway 84 East towards Ashford. Estimated speeds of 100 miles per hour.
The vehicle came into Ashford and reports were it wrecked at Elmer and Highway 84 in front of Watermark Church. But within seconds the chase was still rolling.
The chase traveled down Elmer to First Avenue in Ashford and then north on First Avenue.
The chase continued north on First Avenue to Edsel Deese Road and then east on Edsel Deese Road towards Highway 55.
The chase continued as it turned from Edsel Deese Road to Jack Bruner Road, passing Hopkins Road, then east on County Road 33.
As the vehicle traveled east on County Road 33 towards Highway 52 the officers lost visual sight of the vehicle.
The vehicle was described as a black Nissan Maxima.
The reason for the chase is unknown at this time.
There were a multitude of Dothan Police Patrol units, Houston County Sheriff Deputies, ALEA - Troopers, Ashford Police, Kinsey Police, Webb Police and Columbia Police scrambling that way to cut the chase and get into positions to thrown spike strips out.
This chase developed rapid and covered a lot of territory, quickly.

Thanks to all who were texting and calling during the chase. Sorry could not respond because was trying to keep up with the rapid developments and I traveled east to hopefully be near where the chase terminated.
