DOTHAN:    4:03 PM   Dothan Police are on Augutha Drive with a house surrounded. Dothan Police believe a suspect they are looking for is inside the residence.

The area is cut off from access. Dothan Police SWAT Team is on the scene.

We limit the information we release because officer safety is number one.

A suspect is in custody. Taken into custody without incident. Will provide more details later.

Dothan Police still have the house surrounded.

The Dothan Police SWAT Team has exited the house. All clear inside.

Dothan Police Patrol Division attempted to take a subject into custody today on an outstanding arrest warrant. A male subject opened the door, saw law enforcement, slammed the door as he ran back into the house.

After repeated attempts for the subject to exit the residence the decision was made to dispatch Dothan Police SWAT Team.

Once SWAT was in place and repeated attempts to have the subject exit the residence, finally the subject exited the residence.

LOL - he was not the one the police were looking for. LOL - is not about the police but the guy who slammed the door as he ran back inside. At this time I do not know if he had any outstanding arrest warrants but he compounded his issues, wasted resources of the police department, cost several thousand dollars for being stupid.

Dothan Police had authorization from the owner of the residence to enter after stupid finally came out. Dothan Police searched for the person they were really looking for but he was not there.

Unknown if stupid was arrested or not.
