DOTHAN:   6:32 PM   Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched EMS, Dale County Sheriff  Deputies and Daleville Department of Public Safety a firearm assault, male subject shot in the stomach. The incident location was 8429 Highway 85 Daleville.


UNCONFIRMED at this time by officials, so UNOFFICIALLY we understand a homeowner shot a person in her front yard. UNCONFIRMED by officials, so UNOFFICIALLY we understand the victim of the gunshot was a neighbor.


Law Enforcement are investigating. At the time of this writing we do not have any specific information, the condition of the gunshot victim or what the details are that caused the shooting.

Spoke with Dale County Sheriff Criminal Investigator concerning this case. The victim does not appear to have life threatening injuries.


At this time no one is arrested and the investigation so far appears to be self defense.


The Criminal Investigator of Dale County Sheriff Department, I have known him for decades. He is among the best criminal investigators in this part of the country, detailed, experienced and thorough. 


The investigation continues.
