UPDATED at 10:00 PM...Problem for All First Responders in Dothan and Houston County

DOTHAN – HOUSTON COUNTY:  For the past week now police, firefighters and EMS units in Dothan and Houston County have not been able to get text pages from the communication Center due to a problem with Verizon Wireless. A lot of the First Responders have Verizon Wireless Cell phones and for the last week no one has been able to get text pages for calls or updates on calls.


This has created a huge problem for first responders. If they cannot get the calls they may not know to respond. In the County Fire and EMS rely on this text messages and when asked when the problem will be fixed it appears NO ONE seems know.


Right now for county fire and EMS units they are calling on the phone to get extra help when needed but this takes extra time. Law enforcement can get BOLOs or other important information when needed. Most County Fire and EMS have an App call Active-911. This app is the way to get our pages for calls but for those that do not have it they do not know. The public has not been effected YET but this does cause a lot problems.


So to the powers that be in charge of fixing this problem please GET IT FIXED soon.

I was just told the problem is on the Verizon Wireless side of paging system. I was told they either can't seem to fix it or won't fix it.  


SO VERIZON FIX THE PROBLEM.
