UPDATED at 1:01 PM... Deputies respond to the area of South Park and Malvern

HOUSTON COUNTY:  Deputies are responding to a report of two black male attempting to break out windows in residence. The caller advised he was in possession of a firearm and would use it if needed. Deputies arrived and detained the two males and are investigating the incident.

As we understand the location was on Battles Road. This residence was burglarized last week an the same one's came back again today. There were also three suspects detained by the deputies.

CONFIRMED three black male suspects were taken into custody by the Houston County Sheriff Department. The suspects were caught in the adjacent field to the property that was broken into.


The homeowner was present at the time the suspects were attempting to make entry. What the suspects did not know was the homeowner's vehicle was inside the garage with the doors closed.


When the suspects made entry into the residence they were greeted with a good 'ol southern greeting of people breaking and entering - that is a home owner ARMED inside his own residence.


SURPRISE!!! The suspects were fired upon, after which, all you saw was elbows, behinds and the bottoms of their feet as they hauled ... from the residence.


The suspects car was parked at the field entry down the road from the residence the unwanted guests were making entry into.


The Houston County Sheriff Department responded to the scene and was on the scene within seconds of the call being dispatched. Houston County Sheriff Captain Arias happen to be at Rehobeth School when the call was dispatched and was on scene in seconds.


The suspects were apprehended and taken to criminal investigation division of the Houston County Sheriff Department. 


It is believed the suspects are the same who burglarized the residence last week.


THE GOOD 'OL SOUTHERN GREETING...  


In Alabama, when you are not invited to a residence and break the a window to gain entrance, the good 'ol southern greeting could be waiting on you. And in this case...great job to the homeowner. Needs to work on his aim, but great job.


Also a great job to the Houston County Sheriff Department. Your response time was faster than ... employees at quitting time!


The suspects are from Florida. One suspect is from Miami, UNCONFIRMED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT.
