HOUSTON COUNTY:  10:53 AM  Houston County 911 Center dispatched multiple Fire units from Lucy and Cottonwood responded to a report of a structure fire at 1676 Fire Department Road in Lucy. The first unit on scene advised smoke and flames visible.


Fire Department Command just advised everyone is out of the home and the main power line is down to have Wiregrass Electric to be en - route. Also this will be a fully involved structure.


Houston County Sheriff’s Office responded along with an ambulance, Cottonwood Rescue. The road the fire is located on is closed due to emergency equipment and supply line blocking the road.


The house is located at the corner of County Road 4 and Fire Department Road.

At 11:06 AM.. Lucy Fire Engine is on the scene and advised water on the fire.

At this time Pansey Fire and Lovetown Fire have been dispatched for their tankers due to lack of Fire Hydrants close to the scene. Tankers from Cottonwood, Lucy, Lovetown, Cottonwood and Pansey have responded to shuttle water to the scene.

While fighting the structure fire - firefighters were told that Houston County was under a TORNADO WARNING.


These men and women are putting it all on the line to help save life and property under these conditions for FREE!!!


Houston County Emergency Management is keeping Fire Department Road Command Up to date on the weather conditions.

Houston County Volunteer Fire Chief Association Vice President Jason Reneau responded to assist with the fire. Houston County Commissioner D-2, Doug Sinquefield, responded to assist the emergency units and residents in any way possible.


Commissioner Doug Sinquefield has always responded and been there to assist.

Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched multiple Houston County Volunteer Fire Departments to the residence. The fire has flamed back up.


Lucy Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene and reported smoke and flames visible. Home was totally destroyed in the fire earlier. Lucy is attempting to extinguish the fire.


Red Cross was notified earlier of the fire. The Red Cross provides “immediate” needs and a motel room for about two nights. The Red Cross made it clear from that point it is up to the community, the church community to then take care of the residents.
