UPDATED at 9:29 PM... 9:13 PM... Single Vehicle Accident at East County Road 8 at Jeffcoat Road

HOUSTON COUNTY:  At 9:13 PM.. Gordon Fire, Lucy Fire and Ashford Rescue responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash at  East County Road 8 at Jeffcoat Road. Reports are the van ran off the road into a field at the curve. First reports were one person possibly thrown from the vehicle. Due to this information Survival Flight has been Launched.

Houston County Sheriff's Deputies also have been dispatched to the accident. The area where the crash occurred is closed until it can be cleaned up. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.

Ashford Fire was also dispatched to the accident but Gordon Fire canceled them. Firefighters and Deputies have established a landing zone for Survival Flight in the middle of the road between the two sheriff deputies units.

Wiregrass Electric was quick to respond due to possible down power lines. Also the vehicle is reported to b a SMART vehicle (all electric) which makes the incident even more dangerous for the first responders and any victims.

The driver was transported by air to a Tallahassee Hospital.
