DECATUR COUNTY GA: 10:25 PM In Decatur County Georgia, ( Bainbridge ), there has been a shooting of a law enforcement officer.

The scene appears to be on North County Road 315 in Decatur County.

Different reports of what officers have been shot. Unknown for sure if Decatur County Sheriff Deputies or Seminole County Georgia Deputies.

There are multiple agencies involved. They are being tip lipped at this time. Unknown the extent of injuries at this time. It appears to be two officers and reports the officers are in stable condition.

A Georgia Bureau of Investigation helicopter has arrived. Multiple Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents are on the scene.

The second suspect in the Saturday evening shooting of a Decatur County Sheriff Deputy.

There were two suspects, the first being Brad Curtis Phillips, was taken into custody late Saturday evening or early Sunday morning.

An extended manhunt has been ongoing since the time of the shooting for the second suspect, Troy Arthur Phillips.

Decatur County Sheriff Wyle Griffin posted on facebook at 1:30 PM Georgia time has been taken into custody.

The preliminary information we have is a Seminole County Sheriff Deputy attempted a traffic stop on a 2500 series Chevrolet truck with a Florida license for reckless driving. The vehicle refused to stop and reports are an additional Seminole County Sheriff Deputy arrived to assist the first. Decatur County Sheriff Deputies responded to assist.

The chase left Seminole County, was traveling north on Highway 310 towards Brinson. Unofficial reports are the suspects fired shots at the deputies who also returned gunfire at the suspects. Unofficial reports the vehicle pulled into a driveway of a house.

Unofficial reports the suspects fired shots into a residence door attempting to gain entry. However in Georgia, residents shot back! The homeowner returned fire on the suspects who quickly realized, OH NO!

The suspects, unofficially, were able to get back into their vehicle to flee.

Unofficially, what we understand a Decatur County Sheriff Deputy was arriving at this time, the suspects began firing shots and struck the Decatur County Sheriff Deputy.

The suspects continued their run with some law enforcement remaining with the fallen deputy and some in pursuit of the suspects. The suspect vehicle wrecked. Law Enforcement Officers were able to take one suspect, Brad Curtis Phillips, into custody while the second suspect fled.

A manhunt took place. Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents responded as did surrounding agencies, to include Jackson County Fl Sheriff Donnie Edenfield.

Sheriff Griffin of Decatur County Sheriff Department announced the second suspect is in custody.

The latest update on the condition of the Decatur County Sheriff Deputy is that he is in critical condition.
