ABBEVILLE:  Tonight at 6 PM the Abbeville City Council is expected to meet in a regular scheduled meeting.

UNOFFICIALLY we understand that one item to be discussed is making a joint communications center for Henry County. Some funding has been located to get the joint center. Just one obstacle for the Hatfield and McCoy county named Henry County Alabama.

The proposed location for the joint communications center
at this time" is the Henry County Courthouse Annex in Abbeville. There are funds located to make this happen.

But this move does not make Headland happy because they want it to be in Headland. And long term that might happen. But the importance in saving officer's lives, EMS workers lives, fireman's lives and the public's lives far out weigh's the Hatfield and McCoy in fighting that is on going.

Tonight is step 1. The Abbeville City Council will vote on the joint center.

Tuesday is step 2. The Headland City Council is scheduled a work session at 5:30 PM on Monday with a council meeting at 6 PM. We are told this will be on the agenda and we are told there is infighting to remove it from the agenda.

THERE IS NOT ONE LEGITIMATE EXCUSE FOR NOT HAVING A JOINT COMMUNICATIONS CENTER IN HENRY COUNTY

Henry County Sheriff Department and Abbeville Police Department operated for decades on one radio system. Abbeville Police was he primary dispatch center.

During the election Headland and Abbeville supported a joint communications center. But the people of Henry County re-elected Will Maddox as Sheriff. Headland and Abbeville Police Chief's was for the District Attorney Investigator. All of a sudden that was not a good idea.

Then Abbeville Police Chief Noel Vanlandingham got into a squabble with Henry County Sheriff Will Maddox over dispatch. Next thing was Abbeville Police did their own dispatch with 911 calls ringing in there. Headland Police did their own dispatch with 911 calls coming in there. Then because of the squabble between Abbeville Police and Henry County Sheriff, the Sheriff Department was forced to convert part of the jail to a dispatch center.

So Headland dispatches Headland Police and Headland Fire who operate on one system. As a part of that Headland dispatches "some" of the 7 volunteer fire and EMS calls in the county. Headland Police have no radio contact with Henry County Sheriff Department and same for Sheriff.

Abbeville Police dispatches for Abbeville Police and Abeville Fire. While Abbeville Police have a Sheriff Department radio Henry County Sheriff Deparment does not have a Abbeville Police Department radio. Abbeville Fire operates on the same radio as the majority of the other 7 Volunteer Fire. They do not operate on the same radio system as Headland Fire.

Henry County has about 45 law enforcement officers in the entire county. The ALEA - Troopers operate on a UHF radio system that came over with NOAH on the Ark. They will get a new system when a dignatary comes under gunfire. Hopefully the Trooper goes home and the dignatary, well he should have payed closer attention to the radio system.

All seriousness, the excuses of why one center in Henry County is not completed are funny as hell to listen to. They are like children. Well sorry children, you could make better excuses. It is because of power.

If they DO NOT VOTE FOR ONE CENTER, when your loved one dies because of delays your attorney needs to name these three as the first three defendants in their official and personal capacity: (1) David Money, Probate Judge/Commission Chairman, (2) Billy Helms, Mayor of Abbeville, and (3) Ray Marler, Mayor of Headland. Then add each Council member. But file the lawsuit in the professional and personal capacity.

Watch  at 6 and see what your elected officials do
