Montgomery, Ala.- An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) project on U.S. Highway 29 will begin Monday, October 19, weather permitting.
The project will consist of safety widening, resurfacing, and traffic stripe from Alabama Highway 93 in Banks, Ala. to the Bullock County line.
Motorists should plan for delays and use caution while traveling through the construction zone, as there will be lane closures utilizing a pilot care and flag men.
ALDOT awarded the project to Midsouth Paving, Inc., based out of Birmingham, Ala. at approximately $3 million with 70 working days. The project is expected to be completed in Spring 2021.
ALDOT’s mission is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama.
