Washington County High Speed Chase Ends in Arrest

Washington County, FL:Sheriff Crews got in on the action today. A high-speed pursuit which originated in Bay County made its way into Washington County just before noon.
A South Carolina man is in custody after eluding law enforcement at high rates of speed through two counties. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was contacted after Bay County Sheriff’s Office initiated a pursuit of a stolen vehicle out of Alabama. The suspect lead law enforcement North on State Rd. 77 where the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Deputies pursued the suspect down Moss Hill Rd. into Vernon and continued North on State Rd. 79.
The Florida Highway Patrol assisted in the efforts to apprehend the 40-year-old driver, Kristopher Damian Burton, of Waterloo, SC.
Burton was booked into the Washington County Jail on local charges of fleeing and eluding at a high rate of speed. In addition to local charges, he also has multiple outstanding warrants. Additional charges to follow.
