WCSO Executes A Warrant for Child Cruelty

WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL:A Wausau, FL man has been arrested for abuse towards a 7-year-old child earlier this morning.


Washington County Sheriff’s Office executed an arrest warrant for 29-year-old Brandon Michael Curtis this morning, following an investigation into an alleged child abuse case concerning a 7-year-old child. The child had a large bruise on the left side of the head next to the eye along with red marks around the child’s neck.



During the investigation, the child disclosed to WCSO Investigators and the Florida Department of Children and Families, how they received the injuries. Based on the information, an arrest warrant was obtained, and Curtis was taken into custody. Curtis is accused of grabbing the child around the neck and striking the child on the left side of the face.



“I absolutely will not tolerate a grown man putting his hands on a child in this nature,” states Sheriff Crews. “I personally wanted to meet Curtis at the time of his arrest and share with him my thoughts of his actions.”



Curtis was booked into the Washington County Jail on the felony charge of cruelty towards a child without great bodily harm.
