Weather Service Confirms Brief Tornado in Mobile County Yesterday

MOBILE: Storms on Friday have produced at least one tornado in Alabama, according to the National Weather Service.


A NWS survey team out of the Mobile office confirmed on Friday evening that a brief EF0 tornado touched down in Chickasaw in Mobile County just before 1 p.m. 


The tornado had maximum winds estimated at 75 mph. It was on the ground for only a minute and had a path length of a half-mile, according to the preliminary storm report.
