IT HAPPENS IN MONTGOMERY - BUT REACHES ALL 52,419 SQUARE MILES OF THE STATE OF ALABAMA:     The Alabama House of Representatives and Alabama Senate rang the bell today beginning the 2022 Election Year Alabama Legislative Session.

Tonight the legislators and citizens can hear Alabama Governor Kay Ivey’s State of the State address.

Yesterday Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce had “EGGS and ISSUES” where the legislative delegation gave a glimpse into what they expect the 2022 Legislative Session to cover.

The above link will carry you to the Alabama Legislature web page. At this particular link you can see legislation that has been pre-filed by one of the 105 members of the Alabama House of Representatives or 35 Alabama Senators.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser three areas the Alabama House of Representatives and Alabama Senate are expected to focus on; (1) American Rescue Plan Act of how to spend $ 1.5 billion dollars (2) Permitless Firearm Carry (3) Pay raises for teachers and state employees.

PAY RAISES FOR TEACHERS AND STATE EMPLOYEES!!! How do I know? Election Day is May 24, 2022.

If nothing else passes, the pay raises will pass. No doubt.

According to information the Republicans want to spend the $ 1.5 Billion on broadband expansion, water and sewer infrastructure, and compensation for healthcare providers.

With all of what is happening in Alabama, all of the murders in Montgomery and Birmingham, the AlaBama Legislature wants to focus on - carrying a firearm without a permit. REALLY? REALLY?

Of all of the requirements to seek public office, IQ and common sense are not required. Schools have to close, COVID strong, every day in Montgomery and Birmingham murders and gun crimes.

I support carrying firearms. 100% support.

In fact there is a report on file with Houston County Sheriff Department with the firearms I carry in my vehicle. During the Bob Riley days and how I dogged Riley and Colonel Chris Murphy, if stopped by then ABI or FBI, they would have attempted to label me as a terrorist. So I filed a report to counter them.

For the Alabama Legislature to remove the permit carry law would hamper law enforcement and the possibility of your getting your stolen weapons back.

TRUE STORY:   Late at night law enforcement made a traffic stop and the persons had several firearms in the vehicle. No one had a pistol permit so law enforcement arrested the ones in the car for carrying a pistol without a permit. The next morning as the citizens began their day they found their vehicles were broke into during the night and their firearms stolen. Law Enforcement had recovered them before the owners knew they were stolen only because of the carrying a firearm without a permit law. Had it not been for that law, then law enforcement would not have had probable cause to check the weapons and serial numbers, therefore having to let the people go, therefore the weapons would have gone.

But because of the permit law, the stolen guns recovered and suspects apprehended.

The permit law  is not a law intended to hamper your right to bear arms. It is a law which helps law enforcement control crime.

But with all of the pressing issues, this is the focus of the 2022 Alabama Legislature.
