DOTHAN: 01:35 AM Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Fire Engine 5 ( Eastside ), Pilcger Ambulance and Dothan Police to a firearm assault, 818 Wilder Avenue.
The reports to Dothan 911 the victim had a gunshot wound to the chest.
Dothan Fire Engine 5 and Pilcher Ambulance were directed to stage at a location near the firearm assault but DO NOT enter the scene area until Dothan Police declared it safe to do so.
Dothan Police units were quick on the scene. In a short time the scene was declared safe for entry of fire and EMS.
In a short period of time Dothan Fire Paramedics and Pilcher Ambulance, under guard of Dothan Police, transported the firearm assault victim under trauma alert to a Dothan hospital. It is unknown the condition of the firearm assault victim at this time.
Dothan Police Chief Will Benny directed Dothan Police Criminal Investigators and Dothan Police Crime Scene Investigators be dispatched. Some Dothan Police Patrol and Criminal Investigators responded to the scene and to the hospital.
Dothan Police Chief Will Benny could not release any additional information at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
The scene is sealed off by Dothan Police Patrol as Crime Scene Investigators and Criminal Investigators conduct the investigation.
