DOTHAN:        This is something that elected and most appointed public servants can not wrap their small brains around.

While spotlighting a paid fire department and EMS service, this also happens in the volunteer world.

And some of those with the feeble mind who can not under wrap their small minds around emergency services is Geneva County Commission Chairman and Geneva County Commissioners.

But it is 4:24 AM in the morning in the City of Dothan:

04:00 AM.  Man Down, West Carroll Street and Ross Clark Circle. Changed to a motor vehicle accident with possibility of three patients. Down graded, but only after two ambulances rolling, to one injury. Dothan Fire Engine 4 and two Pilcher Ambulances rolled.

04:17 AM.   Medical Emergency, Jeff Street, Dothan. Dothan Fire Engine 1 ( Central ) rolled And Pilcher Ambulance.

04:17 AM.   Medical Emergency Nottingham Way. Dothan Fire Engine 2 ( Lakewood ) and Pilcher Ambulance rolled.

04:19 AM.  Medical Emergency in Chapelwood. Dothan Fire Engine 3 ( Westgate ).

04:19 AM.  Medical Emergency on Roxbury.

04:34 AM.  Medical Emergency, Cottonwood Rescue, 7900 block of County Road 33, patient unconscious. Then after Cottonwood Rescue members were woke up from their sleep to respond the persons calling apparently does not like Cottonwood Rescue and requested Pilcher Ambulance. So at 04:37 AM Cottonwood Rescue was cancelled and Pilcher Ambulance was dispatched. So Cottonwood Rescue was woke up for nothing. 

Cottonwood Rescue is there to provide emergency medical care the the people within the 130 square miles served by Cottonwood Rescue does not have to wait for a ambulance to come from Dothan. But rather than the nearest ambulance the person calling had rather the patient wait for ambulance from Dothan. When someone stops breathing there is 6 minutes to start CPR to hopefully prevent brain damage. 

Pilcher’s is a great EMS provider and the patient will have to wait on them because the person calling does not like Cottonwood Rescue. Rapid EMS intervention saves lives but sometimes persons calling had rather not have rapid EMS intervention.

So how the calls come rapid? All while you are asleep.
