MIDLAND CITY: Last evening around 10:00 PM Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched Midland City Police Department to a firearm assault at Midtown Apartments.
ECHO Rescue responded along with Napier Field Police, Newton Police and Dale County Sheriff Department.
On arrival of emergency units they found a male subject with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by ECHO Rescue to Flowers Hospital. The male subject was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Dale County Coroner John Cawley was notified and responded to Flowers Hospital.
Midland City Police Chief Willie Powell and members of Midland City Police Department were on the scene of Midtown Apartments. In a joint investigation between Midland City Police, Dale County Sheriff Department, Napier Field Police and Newton Police Department, a suspect was quickly identified.
The suspect was located in Dothan. Dale County Sheriff Department obtained a search warrant for the suspect residence in Dothan. Midland City Police, Dale County Sheriff Department, Dothan Police executed the search warrant on the residence in Dothan where the suspect was located.
The weapon believed to have been used in the firearm assault was recovered along with the suspect taken into custody.
Arrested and booked into the Dale County Jail for murder is Mary Ann Jackson of Dothan.
Reports are the suspect shot the victim multiple times.
