HOUSTON COUNTY:     07:56 AM     Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Wicksburg Fire to a vehicle fire on Newberry Road in the Wicksburg area of Houston County. 

On the arrival of Wicksburg Volunteer Fire they reported the vehicle was fully involved with a possible grass fire.

The vehicle was in motion at the time of the fire. That requires an accident report and ALEA - Troopers has jurisdiction in that area.

ALEA - Troopers dispatched a Trooper who was on the southeast part of Houston County.

ALEA - Troopers - Dothan Post is commanded by Captain Tracy Nelson. This post covers a large territory to include Barbour County to Pike County - To Crenshaw County - to Covington County and all the way to the interstate. All under Captain Tracy Nelson command.

Captain Nelson was near the scene. He instructed ALEA - Trooper Communications to cancel the responding Trooper and he would handle the accident/vehicle fire investigation.

Shows you Captain Nelson, a third generation of the Nelson family tree to be Alabama State Troopers. Three of the four made rank of Captain. The fourth is in his first year as a Trooper but no doubt he will follow the family tree.
