DOTHAN: 08:35 AM. ALEA - Troopers were involved in a chase. The chase was on Honeysuckle. The ALEA - Trooper was joined by Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputies.
The chase was on Honeysuckle. The chase approached Timbers Drive on Honeysuckle, then crossed Highway 52 West and continued north on Honeysuckle, Speeds were estimated at 60 MPH and traffic was light.
Houston County Sheriff Deputy Tim Ward announced on the radio he was on Fortner at Honeysuckle as the suspect was nearing that location.
The suspect, a female driver, saw Ward and attempted to make a U-Turn when she wrecked in a yard.
By this time multiple Houston County Sheriff Deputies, all on MARKED SHERIFF PATROL VEHICLES and not unmarked were on the scene.
Houston County Sheriff Department POLICY AND PROCEDURE MANUAL reads no more than three units in the chase and marked units, not unmarked, are to take over the chase. If anyone violates this policy then they have created a huge liability for Houston County in they violated the policy and procedures of the Sheriff Department. That is how plaintiff lawyers pierce the immunity shield through negligence of the policy. Make a note of the above because you will be hearing more about that in the upcoming podcast RICKEY STOKES - I AM CALLING YOU OUT. The podcast post each Thursday.
BACK TO THE CHASE - the suspect, a 25 year old female, claimed she was injured. Dothan Fire Engine 2 ( Lakewood ) was dispatched to the scene to check for injuries.
