MALVERN: The men and women of the Malvern Volunteer Fire Department are conducting a boot drive today on Geneva County Road 49.
These men and women DONATE their time to serve the residents of Malvern, eastern Geneva County, and those guests traveling through the areas served in Geneva County.
While there is “little” government funding for the operation of the equipment needed to save lives and property, the insurance, the fuel, the extrication equipment, the fire fighting equipment, the purchase of equipment, the volunteers must get out and raise money in order to survive.
Emergencies are never planned. The wrecks, heart attacks, strokes, vehicle fires, structure fires, they are never on a schedule. They happen without notice.
These men and women donate their times, their gas, their energies, and possibly their life in order to serve others. All for free.
So if traveling County Road 49, stop, empty your change and give some green cash and help these men and women help you.
REALIZE - if you are traveling this road it means one day, without notice, you could be a victim of a car wreck that has to be cut out of the wreckage. Do not want that to happen, but the reality is it could.
So PLEASE STOP and donate.
Also to the men and women who reside in the east end of Geneva County, you could send a check to Malvern Volunteer Fire Department and mail it to the Malvern City Hall to be given to the fire department.
The Malvern Volunteer Fire Department is a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) non profit entity. It is not a City of Malvern Department. They operate strictly as a volunteer.
