ASHFORD: 01:00 AM Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched multiple emergency units to Harrison Street in Ashford.
The 911 call units were advised a firearm assault. The 911 Center instructed responding EMS and Fire to stage until law enforcement declared the scene safe.
Ashford Police Officer Tim Miller was the first officer on the scene. The scene was declared safe for EMS and Fire to enter. A young male was found suffering a gunshot wound.
Dothan Fire Engine 5 ( Eastside ) was requested mutual aid assistance. Prior to the arrival of Engine 5 they were cancelled. The subject was deceased.
Houston County Sheriff Patrol Sgt. Bradley Shaw had the scene cleared and protected. Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigators were requested. Ashford Police Chief Quinton Vann responded.
Houston County Sheriff Deputies and ALEA-Troopers had multiple subjects detained at the INLAND Station in Ashford.
At this time a lot of information is not known. This is a crime scene. And the death is under investigation by both Ashford Police and Houston County Sheriff Department.
