COTTONWOOD: There will be a public hearing held by the Cottonwood Mayor and members of the Cottonwood City Council.
The meeting date is June 4, 2024. The time is 6 PM. The location is the lunchroom at Cottonwood High School.
The subject of the public hearing is where Dothan D5 Commissioner, as a individual and not as a Commissioner, Gantt Pierce, has purchased 11 acres of land at the old Sewing factory and wants to put in a trailer park. This will be a Section 8 trailer park where the residents, based on their income, can get government assistance in paying their rent.
Pierce has a park on County Road 33 already underway as a Section 8 park and has plans for one in Ashford.
The Cottonwood Mayor and City Council wants the developer to make their presentation, then answer the questions of the Mayor and City Council, and answer the questions from the public and hear the public desires.
THERE IS NOT A VOTE AT THIS MEETING. It is a time to hear the development plans and for the developer to answer questions and for the public opinions to be heard by the elected Mayor and Council Members.
The residents of Cottonwood are urged to attend. This is your community and those elected are to carry the will of the registered voters of Cottonwood Alabama. Not the will of those elected, but the will of those who elect the Mayor and Council Members.
