DOTHAN:    9:04 PM     Dothan 911 dispatched a motor vehicle accident with critical injuries, Highway 231 North and Barrington Road.


Dothan Fire Engine Company 6 ( Napier Field Road ), Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Police responded.


The accident involved a pickup truck and a semi.


The extent of injuries is unknown.

The accident last evening was a traffic fatality. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd.


The victim is identified as Taylor Williams.


RSN knew this was a traffic fatality with the victim being dead on the scene. It was 10:31 PM when law enforcement called for the Coroner to be dispatched to the scene. So I knew at the time other media was identifying the wreck claimed a life the Coroner had not even been notified. That is why it has been left as critical injuries.


Unlike WTVY and WDHN, this news outlet, RSN, leaves as critical injuries until we get confirmation the family has been notified. We DO NOT want families to be notified from this website. That has happened so RSN exercises care for it not to happen.


Also beginning at age 22 I was Coroner. I have had to deliver death messages to families. There is no easy way to notify someone their loved one’s life has been claimed.
