DOTHAN:  10:05 PM.    Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Police - Dothan Fire - Pilcher Ambulance to a critical injury motor vehicle accident, Ross Clark Circle and Hartford Highway.

Dothan 911 advised responding units persons reporting to 911 the vehicle was on fire and occupied.

Response increased of all emergency units. Two Houston County Sheriff Deputies responded. Dothan Fire Engine 2 ( Lakewood ), Battalion Chief Watson, two Pilcher Ambulances responded. Dothan Fire Engine 3 ( Westgate ) responded also.

Dothan Police Patrol Commanders and officers arrived first. The Dothan Officers grabbed fire extinguishers and rushed the vehicle, emptying the fire extinguishers, but attacking the fire to extricate the injured. Dothan Fire Engine Company arrived moments after the officers.

LET ME BE CLEAR ... these Dothan Police Officers placed themselves in danger in order to save someone they did not know. The Dothan Fireman arrived and placed themselves in danger to save someone they did not know.

Once extricated EMS made quick and rapid decision to “load and go” with the patient transporting to Flowers Hospital.

Dothan Fire CRASH TEAM was called and responded to investigate the accident. Serious accident they are called in because of their additional training.

Tonight, in Dothan Alabama, this accident was as described by Police Patrol Lieutenant Thomas Davis. Because of “WE” not “I”.

This person is alive because the team acted in unison to each other. Beginning with the 911 Center to Patrol, to Fire Department, Sheriff Department hearing the call and not waiting to be asked but rolling, to ambulances, and then to the hospital. A team of “we” working in lock step sync to save lives.

The injured suffered a lot of smoke inhalation of chemicals. Dothan Police suffered inhalation of a lot of chemicals.
