DOTHAN:   10:51 AM      Dothan Police had reports of a stolen pickup truck and trailer this morning. Dothan Police Patrol recovered the stolen trailer.

Dothan Police Patrol spotted the stolen truck. The Dothan Police Patrol Officer activated his blue lights and siren and the suspect in the stolen vehicle failed to obey and fled.

The vehicle traveled out South Park Avenue, passed Honeysuckle Road at Selma Baptist Church, continuing south on Park.

The suspect in the stolen vehicle approached Taylor Road and South Park Avenue where there is a round-a-bout. The suspect almost wrecked at this location but recovered and continued south.

Dothan Police Patrol was able to secure a safe location on South Park between Fern Drive and Lakeforest for the trained and certified officers in pit manuevers to perform a pit. The Dothan Police Patrol safely perfomed the pit manuever spinning the suspect and stolen vehilce off the road.

Dothan Police Patrol quickly exited their vehicle and was able to take the suspect into custody without incident or injuries.

The Dothan Police Patrol Officers did an outstanding job in securing a safe spot and getting the chase terminated quickly. The suspect is reported to have reached speeds up to 60 miles per hour.

Dothan Fire Engine 2 ( Lakewood ) responded. There were no injuries and the fire engine company returned to service.

One suspect taken into custody and being transported to Dothan Police Criminal Investigation Division.
