10:56 AM. Two People Succumb In Vehicle Fire

DOTHAN:      10:56 PM.    Dothan 911 received a call at 10:56 PM last evening of a motor vehicle crash with injuries in the 2500 block of Ross Clark Circle.

The 2500 block of Ross Clark Circle is near Carroll Street and Ross Clark Circle.

The reports to Dothan 911 flames from vehicle, possibly occupied.

Multiple Dothan Fire Engine Companies, Dothan Fire Battalion Chief, Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Police responded.

On arrival a passenger car was found in the ditch where it rolled several times and was fully engulfed in fire.

The vehicle on fire was occupied and two people died in the vehicle that was on fire. The other vehicle was occupied but they survived.

According to witnesses, not law enforcement, it appears a Dodge Charger rammed another vehicle and struck the passenger car. The vehicle left the roadway traveling into the ditch, rolled and burst into flames.

UNOFFICIAL reports the occupants of the Dodge Charger have refused to identify which was driving.

Dothan Police Chief Will Benny said Dothan Police CRASH Team was notified and responded. The CRASH TEAM is conducting a detailed investigation. You will see Dothan Police Officers in that location throughout the week as they detail the scene, roadway, elevation, and etc in the detailed investigation.

Murder charges are expected as the investigation continues. That did not come from law enforcement but as witnesses have described the events, experience tells me, murder charges will most likely be forthcoming.

All traffic deaths are presented to Grand Juries in Houston and Henry County.

The identity of the victims has not been released. The bodies have been transported to Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for examination.

Houston County Deputy Coroner David Parrish responded to the scene and handled the death investigation. 20th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Russ Goodman was notified of the accident.
