HENRY COUNTY: 10:52 AM On Monday Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship, Henry County Sheriff Deputies and Criminal Investigators, and Henry County Coroner Derek Wright are conducting an investigation into a death.
A female body was found on Calhoun Drive in northern Henry County on Monday. The body had been there for several days when it was found.
A missing persons report had been filed with Eufaula Police Department on the female. Later another missing persons report was filed with Henry County Sheriff Department.
The body was found on Monday. Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship, Criminal Investigators with Henry County Sheriff Department and Henry County Coroner Derek Wright spent most of the day on the scene on Calhoun Drive.
Then Sheriff Blankenship and Criminal Investigators spent into the night conducting the investigation and questioning several persons.
The only official statement given by Sheriff Blankenship is that Henry County Sheriff Department and Henry County Coroner's Office are investigating a suspicious death. Sheriff Blankenship will not comment any further.
Henry County Coroner Derek Wright said the body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy and to determine the exact cause of death.
Law Enforcement are having to wait on Forensic Sciences until a determination on the cause of death is determined.
