WICKSBURG: 9:50 PM Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Wicksburg Fire and Wicksburg EMS to a structure fire in the 200 block of Thomley Road in Wicksburg.
At the time of dispatch the call was unknown the exact location but flames were visible.
Shortly after Wicksburg Fire Units were on the scene they began calling for law enforcement assistance. The landowner was reported to have structure one of the Wicksburg Volunteer Fireman.
At the same time of this call Houston County Sheriff Deputies were on the east side of Houston County to reports of an armed robbery. The call was rapidly changing to a shooting and then shots fired.
ALEA - Troopers and Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah rolled at once when the call was fireman assaulted. Houston County Sheriff Patrol Shift Commander Lt. Reichert broke loose from the east side call and responded to Thomley Road.
The Wicksburg Fire Chief, Wanda Andress, left her home in Enterprise and responded to Wicksburg when notified one of the fireman was assaulted.
Before the law enforcement officers arrived that issue had calmed down. The landowners were hollering the fire was on private property. It was two old semi trailers loaded with wood that was on fire. No arrests were made.
The situation with the landowners was calmed and ALEA-Troopers, Lt. Reichert and EMA Director Judah returned to service and left with Wicksburg Fire.
