COLUMBIA:     10:13 AM.   Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Columbia Volunteer Department to a structure on River Road.


When fire units arrived smoke and flames were visible.


Mutual aid assistance was requested from Ashford, Webb, and Ashford Rescue. Columbia Rescue had to transport one injured which required Ashford to respond to stand by.


It is required for a ambulance to stand by at a structure fire.


American Red Cross was called. Winning the lottery are better odds if they will show up. Half of the time they do not.


Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah, Heather Thomas and Jami Shell responded.


The house was a total loss.
