COFFEE - PIKE COUNTY:    It will be verrrrryyyyy interesting to see how the registered voters of Coffee and Pike County feel about the stunt pulled by the Coffee - Pike County District Attorney Tom Anderson.

In 2022 there was an election by the registered voters in Coffee and Pike County for District Attorney. Incumbent District Attorney Tom Anderson sought re-election and ran unopposed.

The week before Incumbent District Attorney Tom Anderson was to be sworn in for another ( 6 ) year term, which would begin January 17, 2023, Tom Anderson resigns.

Anderson will become Supernumery District Attorney. If something happens to whoever Alabama Governor Kay Ivey appoints then Anderson would assume that role until someone is appointed. Anderson will draw 50% of the salary for the District Attorney as long as he lives.

According Alabama Open Checkbook Anderson received $ 158,322.44 last fiscal year. Some of the income was travel expense. The estimate Anderson will receive "just because" he is Supernumeray District Attorney is around $ 79,161.22 per year.

Now Alabama Governor Kay Ivey will make an appointment for someone to serve as District Attorney for Coffee and Pike County.

This is what is referred to as political suicide. Rather than be honest with the registered voters of Coffee and Pike County and not seek re-election so anyone who wanted to seek election could and the registered voters cast their vote, Incumbent Tom Anderson decided to pull a "con" on the registered voters.

The replacement District Attorney will now be "hand picked" by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey.

Anderson will enter a law practice in Dothan and become a private practicing attorney.

With this stunt Incumbent Prosecutor Tom Anderson, as someone who can be trusted, is a big question. The registered voters were kind enough to him for him to run opposed and he urinates in the faces of the registered voters.
