HOUSTON COUNTY:    12:39 PM    Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Rehobeth Volunteer Fire, Hodgesville Volunteer Fire, Kinsey Volunteer Fire appeared with some members on a large outdoor fire. Southern Junction Volunteer Fire responded with a Brush Truck and members. 

This fire is just outside the city limits of Dothan. Dothan Police is on the scene working traffic.

Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah is on the scene.

NOTE:   Kinsey Volunteer Fire Chief Jason Reneau is Vice President of Houston County Fire Chief Association. The President of the Houston County Volunteer Fire Chief Association is Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah.

As Emergency Management Director and as President of the Houston County Fire Chief Association, Judah has responded to calls all across the county. Both in effort to assist the volunteer departments in their mission, and in an effort of what obstacles the volunteers encounter to help overcome those obstacles. Judah will pick up the fire hose working side by side with the volunteer fireman in fighting the fire.

The Deputy Director of Emergency Management, Leigh Martin, manages the office and paperwork required on grants, radiological response and other items. 

Since EMA Director Judah does not have an assistant to help respond to these calls when they need assistance, and since he serves as Vice President of the Houston County Fire Chief Association, Jason Reneau helps Judah in those roles and responding to calls across the county. The response is not to get into other departments business, but to assist with their needs, which is normally manpower needs.

Judah believes if a volunteer can get out of bed at 2 AM and fight a fire, get the fire engine ready for the next call, then go work all day, for free. Then as Emergency Management Director he can stand side by side with them, work with them, and assist them in their quest to conquer their mission, which is whatever call they are on.
