DOTHAN: At 1:31 AM Dothan Police 911 dispatched Police - Fire - EMS to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 52 West and Trawick Road. At time of dispatch reports of one entrapped and one unconscious.
ALEA - Trooper was first on the scene. The Trooper reported to Dothan 911 six vehicles involved, only one vehicle with patients, confirming one entrapped and one unconscious.
Dothan Fire Engine 2 ( Lakewood ), Dothan Fire Engine 3 ( Westgate ), Dothan Truck 3 ( Westgate ), and Battalion 2 ( Westside ) responded as did Dothan Police and a Houston County Sheriff Deputy.
Dothan Fire worked to extricate the trapped person from the vehicle. Dothan Paramedics also was treating the patient that was unconscious. Both were transported under trauma alert to a Dothan Hospital.
Dothan Police Lt. Watson called for the Dothan Traffic Division CRASH Team to respond. The CRASH Team is made up of officers trained and specialized to in motor vehicle accident reconstruction and extensive investigation.
It appears a single vehicle was traveling on Trawick Road. As the vehicle approached Highway 52, Trawick Road curves. The vehicle did not curve, from the damage it appears the vehicle was traveling pretty fast. The vehicle struck five other vehicles parked in the parking lot of the establishment on Trawick Road and Highway 52 West. No one was inside the cars parked in the parking lot.
The business has been at this location for over three years. Over the last three weeks two serious accidents at this location, none of which were contributed to the business at this location.
Two Pilcher Ambulance units were on the scene to transports the patients.
