DOTHAN - HOUSTON COUNTY: Dothan Police attempted to stop a motorcycle on Highland Street in South Dothan when the driver decided he wasn't stopping. The motorcycle made a couple of laps on neighborhood streets before deciding it wasn't working out for him and headed south.
By this time multiple Dothan Police units and Houston County Deputies were everywhere. The driver continued to run South with multiple officers and deputies behind him. The driver headed South on Hwy 605 and was able to hang on to it at high speeds when he started into the curve on Hwy 605 at the Big Creek Bridge. One of the Dothan officers involved in the chase ended up in the ditch at the bridge. The officer only suffered minor injuries.
The motorcycle driver continued South bound and was not seen again.
At 2:47 AM.. Southern Junction Fire and Rehobeth Rescue responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Hwy 605 at the Big Creek Bridge involving a Dothan Police Officer. EMT's check out the officer but he refused transport and all Fire and EMS returned to service.
