WIREGRASS AREA:    The purpose of this article is only to create an community awareness and not to cause any hurt of any family who has or is experiencing the loss of someone who intentionally took their life.


Recently there seems to be an increase in suicide threats or suicides committed. Emergency units responding to a threat and actual attempted which resulted in the death of the person at the same time.


The calls in the wiregrass which EMS and Law Enforcement have been responding to, while I have no actual number, seems to have increased. And I know in recent days those who have attempted and resulted in their death has increased.


To those depressed and thinking taking your life is the answer. That IS NOT THE ANSWER. Please do not be afraid to reach out for help. There is always an answer to your problems. The answer might not be the one actually wanted, but talking your life is not the answer. 


Today Pastor Todd Thorpe of Watermark Church preached a sermon from Ephesians which spoke to PEACE WITH GOD. Spending intimate time in GOD’S word, seeking the personal PEACE WITH GOD is a step to settling your problems. That has to be followed up and seek out a professional, a qualified Pastor, counselor, and do not be afraid to talk with them on your feelings. Do not act on the feelings of attempting to take your life.


This article is to sound the alarm to the wiregrass there seems to be an increase in threats and attempts recently. While I am not a professional, I feel it is my responsibility to sound the alarm to the community when I feel there is an increase.


RSN is willing to help professionals in anyway needed. Again this article is not meant to hurt anyone who has attempted or any family who has had someone actually take their life. It is meant to make the community aware and to pay attention to those depressed or thinking there is no solution to whatever is concerning them.
