ASHFORD:     11:15 AM     Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Ashford Police, Houston County Sheriff Deputies, and Ashford EMS to a firearm assault on Harrison Street in Ashford.


The time of the call was one minute after midnight.


Responding to assist on the scene ALEA-Troopers and Cottonwood Police.


Houston County Sheriff Deputies and ALEA-Troopers stopped some subjects at The Inland Station in Ashford. These were people on the scene and fled after the shooting.


Houston County Sheriff Department, Chief Deputy Jeff Carlisle and Major Bill Rafferty along with Ashford Police Chief Quinton Vann were on the scene.


Ashford Police Officer Tim Miller was the first officer on the scene and Houston County Sheriff Patrol Supervisor Bradley Shaw was the first Houston County Sheriff Supervisor on the scene. He quickly secured the scene and area after Ashford EMS declared the subject dead on the scene.


Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigators were called out. After the primary Criminal Investigator was called out other investigators then were called out and responded.


The deceased did not live at the Ashford residence. He lived in Dothan. Houston County Sheriff Department has not released his name. 


There was multiple people on the scene where they had a party. At this time no motive has been given.


Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigators and Ashford Police quickly identified two suspects. The investigators issued BOLO'S for the two suspects and identified both armed and dangerous.


One of the two suspects is in custody.


The suspect is identified as Deonte Latarus Gilmore, age 20. Gimore was booked into the Houston County Jail at 7:14 AM for murder and a $ 500,000.00 bond set ( which is in reality a no bond ).


The investigation is on going.

The victim of the shooting death in Ashford has been identified but not by law enforcement sources.


The shooting victim is Tray Martin ( picture number 2 ) of Dothan. Barnes was at a party in Ashford at the time of the shooting.


Law Enforcement have not released the motive. While RSN knows we are waiting for Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza to released more information.
