BAY COUNTY - The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of three juveniles and an adult after a fight broke out at Jinks Middle School today between two students.
The School Resource Deputy (SRD) responded to the fight and arrested the aggressor, leading her out to his vehicle. Another student had phoned the aggressor’s mother who quickly responded to the school with a baby in her arms and additional juvenile family members.
The family confronted the SRD and another deputy who had responded to the school to assist. Family members of the arrested student jumped the SRD as he was putting the arrested student into his vehicle. The other deputy stepped in to help.
The SRD radioed for additional help and about 12 BCSO deputies and officers with the Panama City Police Department responded to the scene. Arrested were Phyllisia Causey for Battery on a LEO and Resisting Without Violence and Jewel Moore, age 13, for Disruption of a School Function and Resisting with Violence. Two other juveniles, both age 16, were arrested and charged with Trespassing on School Property, a misdemeanor.
The baby was turned over to DCF and then to another family member.
