HOUSTON COUNTY:    2:44 PM   Earlier this afternoon in the parking lot on the west side of Main and Oates across the street from the Houston County Courthouse some shots were fired.


Houston County Sheriff Department and Dothan Police responded to the scene. 


Houston County Sheriff Department Criminal Investigators were seen in the parking lot searching for evidence. Unknown what evidence was found. 


Both Houston County Sheriff Department and Dothan Police have been conducting an investigation. During the investigation information was obtained of possible suspect(s) on Catalpa Avenue in Dothan. Both Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Dothan Police converged on the residence on Catalpa Avenue. Several officers. At this time it is unknown if anyone was taken into custody from the Catalpa residence.


There was a capital murder hearing on-going in the fourth floor courtroom at the time the shots were fired. WE ARE NOT saying the shots fired and the Capital Murder Hearing were connected.


The investigation is continuing.
